The word massage is thought to come from the Arabic word ‘to press softly’, and the Greek word ‘to knead’. It can be described as ‘a scientific method of manipulating the body tissues’. It can be a way of inducing relaxation or invigorating the system depending on the choice and combination of massage movements.
