Who are the Assessor qualifications for?
These qualifications are designed for learners aged 19 and above, who work, or intend to work, as assessors and internal verifiers of regulated qualifications, including Apprenticeships and vocational qualifications in all occupational sectors. This includes Assessors and Internal Verifiers in an FE college, Community Learning and Skills Provider, Independent Training Provider, and those delivering work-based training within a voluntary, community, private or public organisation.
The GA Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).
The Gatehouse Awards (GA) Level 3 Assessor Awards and Certificate are designed for those who currently work, or wish to work, in the field of assessment. They are designed to support the assessment of all Apprenticeships and vocational qualifications.
There may be a requirement for assessors of competence to hold a particular qualification, although the actual requirements will vary within a sector. Reference should be made to the assessment requirements from the sector in which the assessor is working. These will be detailed within the relevant qualification specifications, or through referring to the sector skill council if
relevant.
This document provides centre staff, candidates and employers with a comprehensive overview of the qualification content as well as the assessment and quality assurance requirements for these qualifications.
The qualifications are regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (Ofqual) in England and are part of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
All versions of these qualifications are listed on the Register of Regulated Qualifications which is operated by Ofqual at http://register.ofqual.gov.uk.
