The VTCT (ITEC) 6 Award in Mesotherapy Treatments is a beauty aesthetic qualification aimed at level 5 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add Mesotherapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings.

 

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that involves injecting nourishing substances including a mixture of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids into the mesoderm layer of the skin to promoting skin rejuvenation and improvement of overall appearance. It can be used to target various concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, and cellulite. Mesotherapy also can be administered to help treat hair loss, face and body concerns.

Learners are required to hold a level 5 needling or mesotherapy qualification or equivalent.

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification is informed by employers and national and international standards for aesthetic beauty and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a fully commercial Mesotherapy practitioner.

Learners must achieve the mandatory unit:

  • Enhance Appearance using Mesotherapy TechniquesThroughout this qualification, learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of relevant requirements, regulations and safe practice treatment protocols for mesotherapy. Learners will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to consult with clients, and provide specific aftercare and home care advice. You will cover the following:

 

  1. Current legislative requirements governing aesthetics non-surgical intervention.
  2. Historical background of Mesotherapy treatment and its use within the aesthetics industry.
  3. Health and Safety responsibilities.
  4. Development of a thorough patient consultation.
  5. Contraindications and contractions of Mesotherapy.
  6. Pain management.
  7. Specific preparation before practical application.
  8. Treatment plans
  9. Accountability.

  • What could this qualification lead to?

    The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment or self-employment in the beauty aesthetic industry providing Mesotherapy. Additionally, learners may choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing additional specialist qualifications at Level 4 and 5, including:

  • VTCT (ITEC) Level 6 Award in Skin Peeling
